y = 56x + 1.....-56x + y = 1

-56x + y = 1
-x + y = 2......multiply by -1
---------------
-56x + y = 1
x - y = -2 (result of multiplying by -1)
-------------add
-55x = -1
x = 1/55

-x + y = 2
-1/55 + y = 2
y = 2 + 1/55
y = 110/55 + 1/55
y = 111/55

solution is : (1/55, 111,55)

First, let's work on your first equation,y=56x+1

This means, see if it can be simplified at all before attempting to solve it.
Multiply x and 56

Multiply x and 1

The x just gets copied along.

The answer is x

x

56*x evaluates to 56x

56*x+1 evaluates to 56x+1all-in-all, your first equation can be written as: y = 56x+1 these are the steps.
