list all the factors that are common in both of those numbers.
These factors are: 1, 2, 3, and 6.
(1 times 18 is 18, 1 times 24 is 24)
(2 times 9 is 18, 2 times 12 is 24)
(3 times 6 is 18, 3 times 8 is 24)
(6 times 3 is 18, 6 times 4 is 24)
Now, out of these factors, find the one with the largest value. In this case, it's 6.
The greatest common factor of 18 and 24 is 6.
Hope I helped :)
Also, If this is confusing go to calculator soup. com and type in greatest common factor

Hi there, I will help you!

The GCF is something I have learned before.
Greatest
Common
Factor

If you want to know how to solve the GCF of 18 and 14, I will show you then.
First it's like comparing the number from each other.

The Values 18, 24

The Factors or 18 are: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18
The Factors of 24 are: 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 12, 24

Your probably thinking isn't 1, 2 and 3 GCF since they both have the same numbers, but the greatest and common number is 6 because they both are the same and its the greatest number. That's why this is called the GCF for a reason.

The GCF = 6

Hope this helps! :)
