1. Which of the following sentences from the text contains an example of a metaphor?

A. He looked like one of those ballerinas that dance just on the tips of their toes.
B. Momma’s horrible snake-woman voice came out again and said “If you ever, ever...”
C. Byron’s hand was shaking and he was crying like a big baby but his finger still stayed out.
D. Right when the fire was going to give him a good roasting Joetta ran across the room and, sounding like that Little Engine That Thought It Could, she blew the match out before it got him!
I think its A? Maybe D?

A, C, and D are all not the answer because they include similes, a form of figurative language that uses "like." The second one, B, is the only one that uses a metaphor. "Momma's snake-woman voice" instead of "Momma's voice like a snake-woman"
