First start out with the square in the middle. The area is the base ties the height which are both 7. So 7 times 7 is 49.

Then for the triangles, the area is the base x height x 0.5

So 3x7x0.5= 10.5 There are two triangles so the area for the other one is the same. 10.5

Now add all of them together 49+10.5+10.5


I think that's how you do it. Its been a while since I did that math
