3 1/3 - 2 1/4 + 1 5/6
Convert all mixed numbers into improper fractions.
10/3 - 9/4 + 11/6
Multiply until all fractions have the same common denominator.
40/12 - 27/12 + 22/12
Subtract the numerators but NOT the denominators
13/12 + 22/12
Add the numerators but NOT the denominators
Final Answer: 35/12 or 2 11/12 *Both answers are equivalent to each other.

Equation:
3 1/3 + (-2 1/4) + 1 5/6
Convert:
10/3 + (- 9/4) + 11/6
Find the same denominator for all fractions:
Since 3, 4 & 6 can both multiply into 12, you can use 12 as the denominator for all.

40/12 + (-27/12) + 22/12
Now add them together and you will get:
40/12 - 27/12 = 13/12
13/12 + 22/12 = 35/12

Your answer will be 2 11/12.
