Answer: y = (6/5)x-8

Slope = 6/5 = 1.2

Y intercept = -8

==================================================

Work Shown:

m = 6/5 = 1.2 is the given slope

(x,y) = (5,-2) is the point the line goes through

y = mx+b .... slope intercept form

y = 1.2x + b .... plug in the given slope

-2 = 1.2*5 + b ... plug in the coordinates of the given point

-2 = 6 + b

-2-6 = 6+b-6 .... subtracting 6 from both sides

-8 = b

b = -8

The equation y = mx+b turns into y = 1.2x-8

This is equivalent to y = (6/5)x-8
