The answer is C, 288 yd and here is why. The formula for the surface area of a rectangular prism is 2(Lw+wh+Lh), with L being the length, w being the width, and h being the height. After that, you plug in your values 2(8(8)+5(8)+5(8)). Make sure you follow PEMDAS, aka The Order of Operations. Solve in the parenthesis first. Inside the parenthesis, it simplifies to 64+40+40, which simplifies to 64+80, which further reduces to 144. Now multiply 144 by 2, which gives you your final answer, 288.
