1. You have that the formula for calculate the velocity (v) in feet per second (ft/s), of an object that has fallen h feet is:

v=√(64h)

2. The problem shown above asks for the velocity of an object that has fallen 23 feet. Therefore, to solve this exercise you only have to susbtitute h=23 feet into the formula for calculate the velocity (v), as below:

v=
√(64h)

h=23 feet

v=√(64)(23)
v=√(1472)
v=8√23
v=38.37 feet per second

3. Therefore, as you can see, the correct answer is the second option, which is: 38.37 feet per second
