The poster would be 2cm by 5cm as you multiply it by 1/2

2 cm by 5 cm
each of the lengths are divided by two (4/2=2, 10/2=5) to give you the lengths of the poster half of its size
technically you aren't dividing the poster in half, you are multiplying its size by one half.
