Do this in 2 steps:
12 eggs on Sunday
Used 1/4 (3/4 is left) on Monday -- 3/4 of 12 is 9
Used 2/3 (6 eggs of the 9 left) (1/3 of the 9 are left in the carton) Tuesday
Wednesday morning 3 are left

The answer is C
