Area of a circle is pi x r^2

Area of a circle with radius of 2 = 3.14 x 2^2 = 3.14 x 4 = 12.56

A semicircle is 1/2 of a circle so now divide the area of the circle by 2:

12.56/2 = 6.28

answer: 6.28 square units
