The first major event of the Women's movement was the Seneca Falls Convention which took place on July 19-20th 1848. This convention was mainly organized in order to discuss the social, civil and religious condition and rights of woman.
It plays a main role in the movement, because in this event the Declaration of Rights and Sentiments, which was a document mainly authored by Elizabeth Stanton, went public and got the support of at least 100 people who attended the event.
