Brian read 2/15 of his novel in 20 minutes.

2/5 of their novel

Explanation:

20 minutes is 1/3 of an hour, so 20*3 gets you an hour. Now we can do 2/15*3 because that's how many "batches" of 20 minutes there are. 2*3=6 so it would be 6/15, this would be you answer. But, we can simplify this fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by 3. This gets you 2/5.

3/15, since he reads 2/15 of his novel in 20 minutes plus 20 to the minutes and add 2 to the fraction and go until 60 minutes = 3/15
