Jacques-Louis David was a supporter of the French Revolution Rebels. He painted many of the violent scenes so that you feel sympathy for their cause. He painted them in a way that that encouraged the ideas of clear thinking and self-sacrifice for the State. He would also paint various murdered rebel leaders to resemble martyrs and "Christ-like" figures. This would help the further the cause and encourage the young people to take up arms.

the painter supported the revolution through making art that called for logics, clear hedeadness and self sacrifice in the government.

He can be clearly called as the official painter of the official revolution. The painter was used by Napoleon effectively to fuel his propaganda.
