Answer:

The measure of the missing angle is 50°.

Explanation:

☆A triangle equals 180°.

☆A right angle equals 90°

☆We have two angles given to us, however one out of the two angles might be tricky for some to figure out.

☆An angle, we obviously see, is 40°.

☆The right angle, (the one with a box) equals 90°, so therefore, the value of that angle is 90°.

☆In order to find the value of the last angle, we are going to have to subtract the sum of both numbers from 180°.

☆We are subtracting it from 180° because a triangle equals 180°.

☆An equation would look like:

40 + 90 + x= 180

☆The X indicated in the equation represents the unknown angle.

☆Let's solve the equation.

40 + 90 + x = 180 \\ 130 + x = 180 \\ ( - 130 \: \: \: \: \: \: = - 130)/(x = 50)

☆Without an equation, you could just add both angles, and subtract it from 180.

40 + 90 = 130 \\ 180 - 130 = 50

☆Therefore, the missing angle is 50°.
