The answer is -7.6.

Start with the innermost grouping:

(-5.2)+(-3.8)-{(-1.2)-[(-0.5)-(-0.7)]}

Subtracting a negative is the same as adding a positive:
(-5.2)+(-3.8)-{(-1.2)-[(-0.5+0.7)]}
(-5.2)+(-3.8)-{(-1.2)-[0.2]}

Now start with the next inner grouping:
(-5.2)+(-3.8)-{-1.4}

Again, subtracting a negative is the same as adding a positive:
(-5.2)+(-3.8)+1.4

Add the first two together:
-9.0+1.4

Adding the last two, we get -7.6.
