The main purpose of Hitler's policy of lebensraum or "living space" was to expand Germany's territory. This may have been partly fueled by the loss of some German territory as a result of war reparations from WWI. But it was an aggressive and brutal conquest of other neighbouring nations by invading them, controlling their countries and imprisoning and exterminating their Jewish populations.
