Step 1: Solve 3x−5y=−1 for x
Add 5y to both sides
Divide both sides by 3
Substitute 5/3y + -1/3, for x.
Simplify both sides of the equation
Add 2/3 to both sides
Divide both sides by 3 and 1/3

Y=2

Substitute 2 for y in x = 5/3y + -1/3
Simplify both sides of the equation

X=3
