Since AB
is a midsegment
parallel
to
XZ
, its
slope
and the slope of
XZ
are the same.

neverminding for a second that AB is a midsegment of anyone.
we know the slope of XZ, and we know AB is parallel to XZ, well, parallel lines have the same slope.
