6/5x = 24/10x = (24/10) / (6/5)x = 24/10 * 5/6x = 120/60 reduces to 2 months
Explanation :the horses mane grows 6/5 cm per month lets let x = number of monthsit is going to grow 24/10 in x months
so 6/5x (6/5 times the number of months) = 24/10divide both sides by 6/5, eliminating the 6/5 on the left side.so x = (24/10) / (6/5)...and when dividing fractions, u flip what u r dividing by, and multiply. 24/10 * 5/6 = 120/60 which reduces to 2 months. is the correct answer!
