Lets get started :)

(3)/(4)x + 4 =
(5)/(8)
We subtract 4 on each side

(3)/(4)x + 4 ( - 4 ) = (5)/(8) (- 4 )
+ 4 and - 4 cancels out

(3)/(4) x = (5)/(8) - 4
Here, we face a little problem
We need to change 4 into a fraction with same denominator in order to perform subtraction
the denominator of 4 is 1 and 1 x 8 = 8, so we multiply numerator and denominator by 8

(3)/(4)x = (5)/(8) - (4x8)/(1x8)

(3)/(4) x = (5)/(8) - (32)/(8)

(3)/(4)x = - (27)/(8)
And now we divide either sides by
(3)/(4) to find the value of x
(Dividing by a fraction also means multiplying by its reciprocal)

(3)/(4)x ÷
(3)/(4) =
- (27)/(8) ÷
(3)/(4)

x =
-(9)/(2)

(3x)/(4) +4= (5)/(8)
Multiply both sides by 8.
2(3x) + 8(4)= 5
6x+32=5
Subtract 32 from both sides
6x=-27
Divide both sides by 6.
x=-27/6
Simplify
x=-9/2

Answer: x=-9/2
