It looks like you want to evaluate
.. 8j -k +14
for (j, k) = (0.25, 1).
Put the numbers where the letters are. If you cannot do the math, let your calculator do it.
.. 8*0.25 -1 +14
.. = 2 -1 +14
.. = 1 +14
.. = 15
The value of the expression is 15 at (j, k) = (0.25, 1).
