The process of the DECIDE model are as follows: first, one must define what the problem is; second is to establish a set of criteria; third is to carefully consider all the possible alternatives; fourth is to distinguish the best alternative; fifth is to design, develop and execute a plan of action; and lastly is to evaluate and monitor the outcomes. Without a doubt, one will eventually hone his or her skills if he or she will continually practice an evidence-based guideline such as the DECIDE model.
