To find the percent, you have to divide 24/6
24/6 = 0.25
Now you convert 0.25 to a percent.
So move the decimal point 2 places to the right.
= 25 %

Clara bought 24 donuts for the office. If 6 of the donuts were chocolate, what percent of the donuts were chocolate.

The fraction
(6)/(24) represents the donuts that are chocolate out of all the donuts.

To find what percent of donuts are chocolate, we can turn the fraction
(6)/(24) into a percent.

We can first reduce this fraction by dividing both the numerator and denominator by the Greatest Common Factor of 6 and 24 using 6.

6 ÷ 6 = 1

24 ÷ 6 = 4

Our reduced fraction is
(1)/(4).

1 ÷ 4 = 0.25

0.25 × 100 = 25%

Therefore, 25% of the donuts that Clara bought were Chocolate.
