For working 24 hours at $7.50 per week, she earns

24 * $7.50 = $180

To earn $250 in the week, she needs to earn an extra

$250 - $180 = $70

Answer: More than $70.

Hello!

First, let's multiply the amount of money Debra is paid hourly ($7.50) by the number of hours she worked that week (24).

7.50 × 24 = 180

So, excluding tips, Debra earned $180 that one week. To find out how much she must receive in tips to earn more than $250 in that week, we must subtract the money she earned during that week from 250.

250 - 180 = 70

A N S W E R:

Debra must earn more than $70 in tips that week.
