so 8*200 is 1600.
1880-1600 is 280.
rate of change is 200.
initial is 280

Answer: The family drove 200 miles per day and the initial value of distance drove to their grandmothers house is 280 miles.

Explanation:

Given : A family drove to their grandmothers house.

After that they averaged 200 miles per day for 8 days.

i.e. The rate of change = 200 miles per day. [Rate of change is a constant in a linear relationship.]

i.e. Total distance traveled after a family drove to their grandmothers house. = 200 x 8 = 1600 miles

Now , the initial value of distance drove to their grandmothers house. = 1880-1600 miles

= 280 miles

Hence , the family drove 200 miles per day and the initial value of distance drove to their grandmothers house is 280 miles.
