$ (3)/(4) *\ 38$

38 is equal to 38/1. So the fractions can be written as follows.

$ (3)/(4) *\ (38)/(1) $

In a fraction multiplication, we operate them by multiplying the numerator to the other numerator and multiplying the denominator to the other denominator. Or we could write it like this.

$ (3)/(4) *\ (38)/(1) $
=
(3*\ 38)/(4*\ 1)
=
(114)/(4)

Because the numerator and the denominator are divisible by 2, we should simplify the fraction form
=
(114:2)/(4:2)
=
(57)/(2)

break 57 into (56+1)
=
(56)/(2)+ (1)/(2)
=
28+ (1)/(2)
=
28 (1)/(2)

= 28.5
