Using the elimination method
2(6x - 4y = - 24)
4x - 8y = -32
==>12x - 8y = -48
4x - 8y = -32
subtract top to bottom
==>8x = -16
4x - 8y = -32
==>x = -2
4(-2) - 8y = -32
==>x=2
-8y = -32 + 8
==>x = -2
-8y = -24
==>x=-2
y = 3
