Answer:

Linear velocity = 0.63 feet per second

Explanation:

There is a relation between angular velocity and linear velocity of a point on the circumference of a moving wheel.

The relation is linear velocity = r × Angular velocity

Since Ferris wheel is 60 feet tall and takes 5 minutes to make one revolution.

It means Ferris wheel has the radius = 30 feet

and angular velocity of the point on the circumference =
(2\pi )/(5) feet per minute =
(2\pi )/(5(60))=(\pi )/(150) feet per second

Now we put these values in the formula

Linear velocity = 30 ×
(\pi )/(150)

=
(\pi )/(5)

=
(3.14)/(5)=0.628 feet per second

Therefore, my linear velocity will be 0.62 feet per second.
