If a figure is translated up 9 units and then left 8 units, what can be said about the perimeter of the transformed image?

The perimeter of the figure stays the same. No matter how much you translate it, it stays the same. You are changing the position of the figure, not its size or shape.

Answer:

The perimeter will be the same as the object.

Explanation:

A figure that is being translated (being moved around in the plane in which it exists) does not change size and therefore retains its perimeter (and area). So the image which is a result of a translated object will have the same perimeter as the original object.
