Tess is sewing some quilts. She finished 2 1/2 quilts in the first month and 2/3 of the remainder in the second month. She had 1 1/2 quilts left to sew in the third month. How many quilts and did she sew in the 3 months?

Answer:

Tess sewed 7 quilts in all.

Explanation:

2 1/2 in the first month

1 1/2 in the third month which one of the three equal parts in the remaining quilts after the first month.

In month two, she sewed the other 2/3 of the remaining which is equals

1 1/2+1 1/2= 3

add all of them together (2 1/2 + 1 1/2 + 3=7)
