Firstly, you need to find the x length in inches by using the Pythagorean theorem.

a^2+b^2=c^2

x^2+6^2=8^2

x^2=64-36

x= √(28) [approx. 5.3 inches]

To find side y,

y^2+5.3^2=7^2

y^2=49-28.09

y= √(20.91) [approx 4.6 inches]

a^2 + b^2= c^2a2 + b2 = c2
x^2 + 6^2= 8^2x2 + 62 = 82
x^2 = 64- 36x2 = 64 − 36
x= \sqrt{28}x=√28 [approx. 5.3 inches]

Now

To find side y,
y^2+5.3^2=7^2y2+5.32=72
y^2=49-28.09y2=49−28.09
y= \sqrt{20.91}y=√20.91 [approx 4.6 inches]

I think is correct
