Review the research question.

Will the bookmobile be affected by the reduction in library funding?
Which best evaluates the question and explains how it could be revised to better focus the research project?
A. It is effective; it directs the interviewee to discuss a single, focused topic. B. It is somewhat effective; it could be improved by asking about when the bookmobile will stop running.
C. It is ineffective; it could be improved by asking for an explanation of how the bookmobile will be affected.
D. It is somewhat effective; it could be improved by asking why the library is subject to budget cuts when the community center is not.

The research question is ineffective because it asks a basic yes or no question. The question is too narrow. An essay cannot be written on a yes or a no. Changing the question to ask how the bookmobile will be affected allows for much more conversation and discussion. Option B is not a good choice because the way it plans on improving the question is to ask another very narrow question. Once the date the bookmobile will stop running is given, there is nothing else to say. Option D doesn't work because it doesn't directly ask about the bookmobile at all. Option C is the best because it allows for a lot more detail about the bookmobile's future.

The correct answer for this one is C. The review question needs to be more specific, and option C is the best reasonable answer for this question.
