A) 4m + 8v = 61
B) 2m + 3v = 24
We'll multiply equation B by -2
B) -4m + -6v = -48 then we'll add it to equation A
A) 4m + 8v = 61
2v = 13
video game = 6.50
we'll input this into equation A
A) 4m + 8 * 6.50 = 61
4m + 52 = 61
4m = 9
movies = 2.25

Let the cost of movie rental be x and video games be y
4x + 8y = 61 -------- (1)
2x + 3y = 24 -------- (2)

(2) x 2:
4x + 6y = 48 ---------(2b)

(1) - (2b):
8y - 6y = 61 - 48
2y = 13
y = 6.5 ---- sub into (1)

4x + 8 (6.5) = 61
4x + 52 = 61
4x = 61 - 52
4x = 9
x = $2.25

Ans: Movie rental = $2.25 and Video Games rental = $6.50
