Assuming that the equation is 3x^2+3x-6=0, then use the quadratic equation, (-b+- sqrt(b^2-4ac))/2a, with ax^2+bx+c as the original equation. so here we get (-3+-sqrt(9+72))/6 = (-3+-sqrt(81))/6 = (-3+-9)/6, = (-1+-3)/2 = 1 or -2. Plug in original to check.
