Ed makes $50,000 a year just for having his job and does not have to do anything to earn this salary. He can sell zero computers and he still collects a paycheck. Most people are like Ed, they do nothing and collect a paycheck from their employer. So if you deduct his $50,000 base salary from his total income of $75,000, he made $25,000 in commission. That means he made this much dough from wheelin and dealin computers on the side. If Ed earns $100 from each extra deal, then $25,000 divided by $100 equals 250. Ed sold 250 computers last year. The correct equation is (A) 50,000 + 100X = 75,000. Base Salary + (Commission Fee x Computers Sold) = Total Income, where the unknown "X" is the number of computers sold by Ed.hope this helps u:)
