Betty had $40 in her pocket. She bought 12 identical bags of popcorn. Betty was left with $10 after buying the popcorn. What was the price, in dollars, of each bag of popcorn?

You are able to write an equation for this problem
It would be 40-12p=10 so this can be adjusted so that the Variable (p) is all alone
-12p=-30 if you divide both sides by -12 you get p=30/12 which simplified gets you p=2.5
Your answer is $2.50
