We know that 2x and 13x have to equal 180° because the two angles together are on a line. Lines = 180°

Solve for x and then find 2x and 13x.

2x+13x=180
15x=180
Divide both sides by 15
x=12

2x= 2(12)= 24°
13x= 13(12)= 156°

Check your work:
24°+156°=180°
180°=180°

The figure is adjacent and supplementary. They equal 180 degrees.

2x+13x= 180

15x= 180

Divide both sides by 15.

x=12

Plug in 12.

2x=24

13x=156
