Full scale deflection of a cdi occurs when the course deviation bar or needle

CDI, called the course deviation indicator is an instrument used in navigation to determine the aircraft's lateral position with respect to its route direction. If the deflection of the needle is from the center of the scale to either far side of the scale, it is called as full scale deflection.
