The rabbit population in a certain area is 200% of last years population.

For example , if there are 100 rabbits last year. Then 200% means there will be 200 rabbits this year. So we divide by 2 to get the number of rabbits in previous year.

There are 1,300 rabbits this year.

So
(1300)/(2) = 650

There were 650 rabbits in last year.
