At the start of the week, you could complete

push-ups. Which proportion could you use to find the percent increase in the number of push-ups you can complete?

(New pushups - Old pushups) ÷ Old pushups x 100 = % increase

=(17-12)/12 * 100
=5/12 * 100
=.4166 * 100
=41.66% or rounded to 42% increase
