Answer:

The answer is A. 5 (8 ÷ 5 ) + 3 • 8

Explanation:

Using the BODMAS rule (which states that whenever mathematical expressions with brackets are to be analysed or solved, the content of the brackets should be simplified before applying the division, multiplication, addition and subtraction signs from left to right) to calculate the products of the 3 options, we find that the right answer is A. 5 (8 ÷ 5 ) + 3 • 8:

Given that 40 ÷ 5 + 3 • 8 = 8 + 24 = 32

Option B follows the BODMAS rule and still give us the product of 32:

5 (8 ÷ 5 ) + 3 • 8 = 5(8/5) + 3 . 8 = 8 + 3 . 8 = 8 + 24 = 32.
