By deficion the volume of a cylinder is given by
V = pi * r ^ 2 * h
where
r: radius of the base
h: height
Clearing the radio we have
r = root ((V) / (pi * h))
substituting the values
r = root ((628) / (pi * (8))) = 5.0 cm
answer
the radius of the base is 5.0 cm
