y=1.5 at the midpoint of GH. To do this you add the y values of the endpoints together and divide by two ----> 5-2= 3 ----> 3/2= 1.5

Hope this helps you !!

Answer: The required y co-ordinate of the point is 1.5.

Step-by-step explanation: We are given to find the y-value for the point that splits segment GH in half of point G is located at (-3,5) and point H is located at (0,-2).

According to the given information, we can say that we are to find the y co-ordinates of the midpoint of the given line segment GH.

We know that

the co-ordinates of the midpoint of a line segment with endpoints (a, b) and (c, d) are given by

\left((a+c)/(2),(b+d)/(2)\right).

Therefore, the co-ordinates of the midpoint of given line segment GH will be

\left((-3+0)/(2),(-2+5)/(2)\right)\\\\\\=\left((-3)/(2),(3)/(2)\right)\\\\=(-1.5,1.5).

Thus, the required y co-ordinate of the point is 1.5.
