4x + 8x = 96

12x = 96

x = 96/12

x = 8

4(8) = 32

There are 32 oranges.

Let the ratio of oranges to apples be x.

So, the ratio of oranges to apples is 4x and 8x.

Therefore, Total oranges = 4x and total apples = 8x

Since, a total of 96 apples and oranges are grown on his farm.

So,
4x+8x=96

12x=96

x =(96)/(12)

x=8.

Therefore,

Total number of oranges =
4x

=
4 * 8

= 32.

So, there are 32 oranges grown at Pruitt's farm.
