I think dystopian related movies are liked not just by teens but by all because generally by the end of the movie viewers get to see the main characters rebel against the unfair treatment. When people have a fixed idea of right and wrong, seeing a society that goes against them will make the audience root for the revolution. Another reason might be that deep down, our society fears the future and what it can become when put in charge of the wrong hands. I personally like watching dystopian movies because I feel It puts a lot of humans flaws into perspective and how without these flaws we can not function correctly. Also you can learn a lot about balance, like how peace can not truly exist without violence or by eliminating competition and making everyone equal you eliminate free will and individuality.
