You need 12000 kernals. 1-liter is equal to (10cm)^3. If four kernels fill 1cm^3, it takes 4*1000 kernels to fill one liter. Therefore, to fill a 3-l soft drink bottle, it takes 3*4*1000=12000 kernels.
