How to find the slope of a line with one coordinate and the x intercept

If we know the x-intercept, then the coordinate is the amount of that number along the x-axis and 0 up the y-axis, so the coordinate is (x,0). We then have two coordinates, the first being the given one and the second being the x-intercept at (x,0)You can find out the slope of any line using the general equation:
(y_(2)-y_(1))/(x_(2)-x_(1))
