6 - 4x = 6x - 8x + 8
6 - 4x = -2x + 8
-4x = -2x + 2
-2x = 2
x = -1

SOLUTION
Calculate and collect like terms
6 - 4 = 6x - 8x + 8

Move the terms
2= -2x + 8

Calculate
2x = 8 - 2

Divide both sides
2x = 6

x= 3
