Answer:

£62.4

Explanation:

There are 104 coins in a bottle 1/2 of the coins are £1 coins

Hence:

1/2 × 104 coins = 52 coins

Since 1/2 of the coins are £1 coins

Hence

52 coins = £52

The remaining the rest of the coins are 20p coins

The rest = 1/2 of 104 coins = 52 coins

Note that:

100 pence = 1£

Hence:

100p = 1 £

20p = x

Cross Multiply

100p × x = 20p × £1

x = 20p × £1 /100p

x = £0.2

So, one 20p coin = £ 0.2

Hence:

one 20p coin = £ 0.2

52 20p coins = x

Cross Multiply

x = 52 × £0.2

x = £10.4

The total value for the 104 coins is

= £52 + £10.4

= £62.4
